In the “good old days,” collecting rubbish around the school grounds was often seen as a punishment, a “character-building” exercise that few of us volunteered for.
Fast forward to today, and that same task has taken on new meaning — now recognised as an act of care for our communities and our planet.
On Wednesday, 5 November 2025, members of the Bonson team proudly joined the Plastics NZ Clean Up Event at Rosebank Peninsula as part of Clean Up Week. This time, we weren’t there by obligation, but by choice.

The morning was spent collecting litter and debris from local waterways and bushwalks behind the industrial area, helping to restore the natural beauty of the place we work and call home. What was once considered a chore became a rewarding and purposeful experience, and a great reminder that even small actions, like picking up a few pieces of rubbish, can make a real difference.
It was inspiring to see so many people from across the community come together with a shared goal: to protect and preserve our local environment.
Bonson is proud to have taken part in this initiative and to contribute to keeping the Rosebank area clean, green, and beautiful. We’re grateful to Plastics NZ for leading such an important event and to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and joined in.
Here’s to cleaner waterways, thriving communities, and a brighter, more sustainable future for all. 🌎💚
