Celebrating Filipino Culture at Bonson

At Bonson, we are proud of the diverse cultures that make up our team. Most recently, our Filipino colleagues brought the company together in August 2025 to celebrate the Philippines’ Language Month by sharing a spread of traditional Filipino food. This generous gesture gave everyone a chance to experience delicious flavours while also honouring the cultural heritage behind them.

The care and effort that went into preparing this food experience was deeply appreciated. It wasn’t just about trying something new – it was an opportunity to celebrate diversity, strengthen connections across our team, and recognise the richness of Filipino culture within Bonson.

Celebrating Diversity Through Language

Language is a powerful way to connect with culture. In honour of Language Month, we also highlighted simple Filipino greetings – such as good morning (magandang umaga), thank you (salamat po), and goodbye (paalam) – to help everyone learn and appreciate everyday expressions. Our Filipino colleagues shared how meaningful it was to see their culture recognised in such ways, reminding us of the importance of creating inclusive experiences where everyone feels seen and respected.

Looking Back: Philippine Independence Day

Earlier in the year, in June 2025, Bonson proudly marked Philippine Independence Day (12 June) by displaying the national flag in our lunchroom and sharing a poster of Filipino greetings. This celebration built on the momentum of our Samoan Culture Week earlier in the year and was warmly received by the Filipino group, who expressed how much it meant to see their culture honoured at work.
